As well as having worked as a photographer, Paul Hartnett has been published under the pen name of P-P Hartnett. As such, he is the author of four novels and a book of short stories.

I Want To Fuck You (Pulp Books, 1998; also published in Germany by Mannerschwarm Skript Verlag).

Sixteen (Sceptre, 2001: also published in Spain by Egales).

Rock 'n' Roll Suicide (Sceptre, 2002), which was selected by literary critic Michael Arditti as BOOK OF THE WEEK in The Times upon publication.

Mmm Yeah (Pulp Books, 1999, a collection of short stories).

Hartnett has edited three anthologies of short fiction:

The Gay Times Book Of Short Stories: New Century, New Writing (MPG, 2000),

The Next Wave (MPG 2001),

City Secrets (Crocus Books, 2002).

He has also published a book on the theme of hype within the music industry, Ultra (Virgin Books, 1986).

Hartnett has given readings and led creative writing workshops throughout the UK.
